🔈 YUNA Announcement 🔈 Dear valued community members and #YUNARMY members, We write to you today with a heavy heart to inform you about a recent unfortunate incident that has deeply impacted our project. Our staking dApp was targeted by a malicious attacker who exploited a vulnerability, resulting in the drainage and subsequent sale of all reward tokens. As a consequence, the price of our token has been significantly affected, causing distress and concern among our community. The attacker employed a sophisticated reentrancy attack, which has raised several questions and concerns among our community. We want to shed light on how this attack happened and address the unexpected nature of the vulnerability that allowed it to occur, despite our implementation of OpenZeppelin's ReentrancyGuard, a widely trusted industry-standard security mechanism. Reentrancy attacks occur when an attacker exploits the reentrancy vulnerability in a smart contract. This vulnerability arises when a contract interacts with an external contract, and the external contract can call back into the original contract before the previous execution completes. In such cases, the attacker can execute unanticipated code and potentially manipulate the contract's state. To protect against reentrancy attacks, we implemented OpenZeppelin's ReentrancyGuard, which is renowned for its reliability and effectiveness. ReentrancyGuard is designed to prevent reentrancy by adding a mutex (a lock) that blocks reentrant calls while the contract is still executing. This ensures that only one function can be called at a time, mitigating the risk of reentrancy attacks. However, it is with great disappointment that we must acknowledge that the attacker found a way to bypass the safeguards implemented by OpenZeppelin's ReentrancyGuard. Through a combination of multiple smart contracts and wallets, they were able to circumvent the protection measures that we had put in place, exploiting a weakness that was previously unknown and unforeseen. This unexpected breach in the ReentrancyGuard mechanism has been a harsh wake-up call for us and the wider industry. It emphasizes the ever-evolving nature of smart contract vulnerabilities and the need for constant vigilance and improvement in our security practices. In response to this exploit, we have already taken immediate action to investigate the incident and reinforce our security protocols. Our developers are working closely with security experts to conduct an extensive audit of our smart contracts, identify the vulnerabilities that were exploited, and enhance our defenses accordingly. We are also reaching out to the OpenZeppelin team to collaborate on analyzing and understanding this attack vector better, with the aim of preventing similar incidents in the future. We understand the concern and doubt that this incident may have raised among our community. We went from $4.5M to $900K MC and we made a leg up to $11M, as promised. We now went from $11M to $3.6M, we could drop a slight bit lower, and then we will crush that old ATH easily, again as promised. You got to understand how we look at it from team perspective and long term perspective. We evaluate the situation and price action every day, and we handle accordingly to this. The team has already spent $250K+ so far on listings, social media marketing, partnerships, mainstream marketing and more. Not to forget about the buy backs recently. We barely cashout from tax wallet, which you all know. We ain't greedy, we will do whatever it takes to make $YUNA succeed, which it surely will. Although, the shake outs like these are needed. Especially for impatient people doubting the project. 😂 Because we know, this clears the way for another leg up. If only people remain, who trust the process fully, there barely will be sell pressure on the next leg up. Just like you've seen happening during last leg up, where it looks like a super organic breakout on the chart if you zoom out. Theres no use on forcing, pushing, using heavy ammo just to push up the price and be used as exit liquidity by the impatient people. People focus on short term price action too much. Look at doge, Shib, BTC, ETH, etc etx etc They didn’t go straight up, it was a bumpy road, ATH, drop, consolidation, leg up, ATH, drop, consolidation and then repeat repeat repeat. People need to zoom out and look at the bigger picture. We have a great team that delivers everything they promised and then some. This is very rare in the crypto space. People, chase after the green candles and most get rekt and they lose their real shot at legit projects. Whales and smart money buy when everything is in the red and then they patiently wait. Probably you have all heard about this guy that invested 8k into SHIB and turned it into $250M. Analysis were saying that this is probably the most profitable trade ever. This person did not check the chart every 5 minutes and freak out. He had the discipline and patience and vision for the bigger picture. Here is where the personal story comes: One of my coworkers was telling me how him and his son got into SHIB super early and for them it was a game to see how many billions of token they can accumulate. Then the price went up and they cashed out $10k each. Don’t get me wrong, $10k is a lot of money for most people. But they cashed out all and didn’t leavea single token behind. Even now in the bear market, their tokens would have been worth hundreds if not millions of dollars. Moral of the story is, always have a plan and focus on the big picture. Stop chasing green candles and buy only when the market is green. Stop focusing on short term price and focus on the vision the dev team has. It’s ok to take profits but also have a moonshot bag and keave yourself a chance leading to financial freedom. This is just my vision and strategy with crypto in general.
